Tasked with making a regular oil price graph look exciting. Not easy but really pleased with this one.
This illustration was created for multi-use marketing purposes to illustrate how the different sections of the business operate. It was used in print and as part of a digital presentation.
Illustration for us in a public consultation.
Interesting project. I was tasked with creating illustrations for a 60m hoarding on a housing development in Norton, Teesside. The hoarding was in place while the houses were being built. It was designed to improve the look of the building site and attract potential buyers to the properties.
Information graphic showing the crash that Prince Philip was involved in.
Graphic showing the dramatic escape from the Russian Soyuz Rocket malfunction. Created with my colleague Mike Russell.
News/feature I worked on with my legendary colleagues Mike Russell and John Bradley. Lots of 3D, poser, photoshop and illustrator.
This was done for The Sun on the day of the tragedy by myself and two amazingly talented colleagues Joe Connor and Mike Russell. We had a clear vision of how we wanted to show the disaster and were able to obtain plans showing the layout of the flats. The entire map was created in 3D along with the Tower itself and the floor plan. Most of the fire was added in photoshop.

So I had a mad idea to give Halloween a news-style infographic approach. Multiple viewings later and the project started to take ‘Shape’. It also combines the opening scene of Halloween 2 and the continuity issues that entailed. This is an UNOFFICIAL fan project. Hope you like it.

Training brochure centred around a ‘tree of knowledge’ illustration concept.
Epic job to mark the final season of GOT. All avatars were built by colleagues John Bradley, Rob Brooks. Written by Thronecast’s Jamie East - I was on Art Direction and layout duty. Lovely job.
I constructed this infographic using a 3D model built by my colleague Neil McClaughlin. By layering a number different renders from Cinema 4D I was able to cutout the roof in photoshop. The model was built from scratch and started about 8 months in advance of the big day. The surrounding info was put together the day before the event and used in the Sun’s Royal Wedding Pullout

Identity for the Northern Film + Media Academy. The idea was based around an vibrant camera aperture

Brand I created for an oil and gas data management software company.
Brand I created for a Tiki cocktail bar in Newcastle City Centre. Great fun.
A 'direction change' brand I created for Osbourne's bar in Yarm, Teesside.
I worked on a dream project being part of the team which created an app for Channel 4’s flagship Dispatches series. I was the graphics editor/lead designer on the 18 month contract. It achieved national recognition in two major journalism awards. It was nominated for Journalistic Innovation of the Year at the British Journalism Awards and was shortlisted for best Digital Media in the One World Media Awards. The app, which streamed bespoke real-time content during the Dispatches broadcasts, was shortlisted in the Journalism awards alongside five other journalistic innovations from national publications including The Times and The Guardian and will now features permanently in the Awards' online Hall of Fame.
Vicky Taylor, Channel 4’s Multi-platform Commission Editor, said: “It has been a really exciting experiment. We have learnt a great deal about how audiences use second screen content and the App audiences have grown steadily over the past few months. We are proud of launching and being the first current affairs programme to offer a totally bespoke second screen experience.” She added: "From setting up the concept, the pilot demos, to launching in May and keeping the app going every week, a huge amount of effort has gone into the journalism, the graphics and the technical production by everyone at Standing Stone. We are very proud of being involved in something so innovative and at the forefront of how television viewers interact with current affairs programmes. It is important for Dispatches to be trying out new things for our audiences and continually pushing the boundaries of what we can do."
The app was co-developed with ScreenReach Interactive, using their Screach technology platform. Standing Stone produced content each week for more than 20 episodes.
The Editor of Channel 4's Dispatches series, Daniel Pearl, said: "The App has been a truly innovative and ground breaking experiment. Many thanks to the team for all their hard and brilliant work."
The nomination was announced in the Press Gazette . See the link here
